The ecological impact in oil developing countries has been more destructive, making it more of a curse than a blessing. This study will adopt a quantitative approach which involves the generation of data in quantitative form which can be subjected to rigorous quantitative analysis in a formal and rigid fashion (Kothari, 2004:5). The study will also adopt a Qualitative approach to research which is concerned with subjective assessment of attitudes, opinions and behavior (Kothari, 2004:5). The qualitative data will be descriptive and will be generated from interviews, review of literature and observation. 3.2 Study Population The study population will constitute the different stakeholders, that is, local community, officials from National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA), and employees from the licensed oil companies.
